The news is out about the Apple second generation tablets, the iPad2. Just in case you missed the product presentation of Steve Job, here's a summary for you.

  • Apple just crossed 200 millions accounts with credit cards.
  • Apple surpassed 2 billion dollars paid out to developers. This is a very high pay out and I want to jump in too.
  • Apple shipped out 100million iPhones.
  • 2010 was the year for iPad, sold 15 millions in 2010 between April to December. That's more than every tablet PC ever sold!
  • Apple generated 9.5 Billion in revenue for 2010.
  • iPad app store stats at 65,000, comparing to Android for 100.
  • Steve Jobs introduced the all new design of iPad2 powered by a new chip the A5. The CPU is 2x faster, with graphics 9x faster. It's up for the game developer to fully utilize this new hardware for better gaming experience.

  • The iPad2 comes with built-in front and rear cameras. It's thinner 1/3, 13.4mm down to 8.8 mm thick. The iPad2 is actually thinner than the iPhone4. That's excellent in my opinion. I hope to see iPhone5 with the same improvement, thinner and wider touch screen. That's another article to write down the road. The iPad2 is lighter as well, 1.5 pounds down to 1.3 pounds, and it comes in white.
  • The iPad2 will support both AT&T and Verizon from day one.
  • The iPad2 preserved 10 hours battery life.
  • The iPad2 price starts at $499 up to $829 depending space and cellular connections.
  • It will be available this coming March 11, 2011.
  • HDMI mirrored video output is an excellent accessories for iPad2, cost is $39. You can charge and use HDMI out simultaneously. The iPad2 will be output to the TV up to 1080..
  • The micro-fiber screen cleans the screen every time you close it. In my humble opinion, I will definitely get this one. The price is $39 for Polyurethane cases and $69 for the leather.
  • iPad2 will be using the latest iOS 4.3. Improved Safari perfomance, with javascript 2x faster, iTunes home sharing, Photo Booth, and FaceTime.
  • The iOS 4.3 will be free on March 11th on iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch (3rd and 4th Gen)
  • Steve Jobs introduced  the iMovie for iPad2 comes with Precision editor, Multitrack audio recording, new themes, Airplay support, HD video sharing.
